Counselling, or talking therapies, gives you a safe and confidential space to explore anything you're finding difficult with a trained professional. Therapists won't judge you for your experiences or responses, and won't advise you or tell you what to do - you'll work together to explore what's happening for you, and will support you throughout.
Counselling is for everyone. Talking to a therapist doesn't mean you're crazy, or not capable, or not coping. You don't have to be at rock bottom to seek help and support: it's ok to try therapy at any point in your life, whatever your background or circumstances. You do not have to be in crisis to get counselling.
At Simultas, we practice humanistic or person-centred counselling: we believe that everyone is capable of positive growth. Counselling can help with issues like bereavement, work stress, relationship and family issues, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and confidence, life changes, and emotional expression and regulation, and trauma. This isn't an exhaustive list: contact us if you have any questions or if you don't see your particular need.
We work with adults (18+) in the UK.
We are not able to work safely online with clients who are under 18, who have severe addiction issues, who experience severe episodes of psychosis, or who are seeing another therapist or counselling service.
We require clients with managed addiction issues to be sober for 24hrs prior to sessions, to be sober and psychologically present during the sessions, and to provide emergency contact information; this can be discussed in your initial appointment. Contact us if you have any questions (simultascounselling@gmail.com)
